What could you do with just one extra hour of productivity from EVERY one of your employees each week for the next year? For 10 employees that is 520 hours. For 100 employees that is 5200 hours.

  • Respond to customers faster?
  • Beat deadlines?
  • Close more sales?

The Accountability Experience can make those extra hours happen!!

"I am accountable for understanding the role, the task, the final deliverable and the due dates. It is up to me to be clear and successful in my role. If obstacles or conflicting priorities arise, it is still up to me to gain focus and create greater effectiveness. No fault, no blame, no guilt!" (Accountability Mindset)

This is the Accountability Mindset that the Accountability Experience creates in every employee. This is your competitive advantage!

The Accountability Experience is built on a proven learning model that not only teaches accountability concepts, but forever drastically alters participants' mindsets. Leaders learn that they are the culture of accountability for the organization and they take more ownership. Employees learn that they can take on full accountability free of fault, guilt and blame.

So what is the Accountability Experience?

The Accountability Experience is a learning process that beings with a comprehensive self assessment of an individual's mindset toward being accountable, as well as an assessment of departmental and organizatinal attitudes toward accountability.

An interactive workshop then walk's leaders and employees through a process that reveals accountable and unaccountable behaviors and actions, defines accountability, discusses why accountability is important and provides guidance on how to make the concept part of employees' jobs. Case studies, small group discussions and application situations guide the learning process. The indiviudal and organization assessment results are discussed and examined for what to learn and act on from each.

Indiviudal coaching on accountability behaviors, what is working and what is not, rounds out the learning and improvement process.

The Accountability Assessment is the only validated instrument measuring accountability available.

The Assessment provides two types of reports. There is an Organization Report and Individual Reports. Each report provides data on four areas:

  • Personal Responsibility
  • Personal Accountability
  • Team Empowerment
  • Perception of the Organization Culture

The results tell the individual and the organization where their scores fall against other organizations that are high and low performers on Accountability. The scoring allows an organization to see where the gaps in accountability are.

Why would you want to start the Accountability Experience journey? Organizations that embrace the Accountability Experience can expect to see:

  • Individuals understand how their mindset drives behaviors.
  • Creation of a foundation for higher performance, more meaningful professional development, and greater profitability.
  • Leadership discover the true resource available to the organization.
  • Clarity about how accountability is essential for organizational and individual high performance.
  • Dissolution of the common belief that accountability and control are the same thing.
  • A readiness barometer of individual and organizational change.
  • Leaders learn that they are the culture of accountability for the organization.
  • Increasing levels of personal accountability emerge – ownership for results without fault, guilt or blame.
  • Employees turn previously unproductive hours into productive hours each week.
  • Managers are able to shift their time and energy to looking outward. As positions open roles are revised, fewer people are needed.
  • Current initiatives are accelerated.
  • Job satisfaction goes up as individuals become more productive and empower themselves (feel more in control).

The Accountability Assessment

The assessment is of mindset for accountability. Mindset is where people start at with accountability. The mindset we have drives the choices we make resulting in the performance we create.

For a person to behave in fully accountable ways they must have a mindset that matches the definitions of the keys to the accountability cycle.

  • Responsibility – “I own it!”
  • Empowerment – “I act on it!”
  • Accountability – “I answer for it!”

The assessment is a highly validated instrument with over 10 years of use. There are 73 items, divided into 4 categories.

  1. Personal Responsibility  - my pesonal ownership mindset
  2. Personal Accountability -  my willingness after to the fact to answer for my results
  3. Team Empowerment - my comfort and preference for working alone, with others or equally comfortable in either arrangement
  4. Perception of the Organizational Culture - my view of this organization on Responsibility and Accountability

Results

The response method is a 5 point Likert Scale from Strongly Disagree to Strongly Agree.
Results are from a range of 0 to 100 for both the individual and the organization.

The Assessment informs the individual and the organization where their results fall in referenceto highly, moderate and low accountable mindsets and organizations.

The Accountability Experience is typically initiated at the top of an organization. The leadership of the organization is the culture of accountability. That group of people is where most of the work of the Accountability Experience occurs.

Reports

Individuals receive a Personal Coaching Report. This report provides an explanation of and interpretation of the results for the individual.

The Organization Report provides the results for the entire employee base (anonymously). Organization Report provides charts showing all the results of those participating, disaggregation of those results by categories, interpretation of the results and recommendations.
